Grumpy Book Reviewer’s First Mailing Attempt

Welcome, book lovers, to the first mailing of my blog posts. I was somehow under the impression that when people signed up to be a “registered user” of this site, the blog posts would go out by e-mail each time I published one. Was I wrong, or what? (I was a bit grumpy, too!)

I am so appreciative of all my followers. Thank you for following the blog, and reading my book reviews. I have set up a Mail Chimp account, and now that I have created a list of all of your e-mail addresses, you will be receiving my blog posts at the address you provided. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time, but I hope you won’t. I don’t want to flood your inboxes with too many messages, so will try to send out mailings no more than once per week. When my blog posts are about a particular book, as most are, I will include the link to the full review of the book. I have published lots of book reviews, but have not blogged about all of them, so you may want to peruse the drop down menus for your favorite genre.

My husband and I have been traveling a lot this fall, but we’re now home to stay for a while. On a recent cruise to New England, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia, we happened upon a wonderful independent bookstore: Sherman’s Book Store in Bar Harbor, Maine. Yes, of course, I bought a book. I wanted several, but I had to consider the weight of my bags for the flight home. Bummer. The photo above is of one of the aisles of books in that delicious bookstore. They are located at 36 Main Street, Bar Harbor, Maine. I could have stayed in Sherman’s for hours, but alas, we had to be back on the ship by 3:30. I’m already looking forward to visiting them again next summer. Here’s a pic of Sherman’s storefront on that beautiful autumn day.
