I’ve been reading cozy mysteries lately — most recently, The Antique House Murders. What’s a cozy mystery? Well, it’s a murder mystery where the hero and/or heroine are never seriously hurt, but that doesn’t mean no one tries to kill them. This one was especially entertaining with a crumbling mansion full of priceless antiques, greedy land developers and politicians, and a community group protesting the proposed development. The antiques auctioneer ends up dead in the mansion, and there are lots of suspects. Then there are two more murders and, as they say, the plot thickens. Of course, the local civilian sleuth solves the crime.
