Fourth of July Creek Left Me Stunned

Fourth of July CreekIt will be a long time before I get Fourth of July Creek out of my mind. This is the prize-winning novel recommended to me by a high school classmate, George Scherer. This book left me stunned; it’s one of those books whose characters seem to stay with you for a while after you have finished the book.

To read my review of this fascinating novel, click on the book’s title in the above paragraph. To view George’s music/band page on Facebook, click on his name in the above paragraph. I highly recommend this book — it is unforgettable.

I sympasize with the “lack of research” issue. Bugs the heck out of me. And most are so easy to avoid. Just give the darn thing to 5 friends who have a bit of exposure to the world before it goes to print.

    • I do find it annoying. It’s so easy to do a little research. I googled “live oaks in Montana” and found confirmation of my belief that they don’t grow there. He could have solved the problem by saying, “leafless oaks” instead of “leafless live oaks”. Nevertheless, this was a fantastic book. Thanks again for reading and following my website/blog.
